245th Marine Corps Ball

On November 13th Detachment 296 held our Annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball. I would like to thank my fellow committee members on all the hard work they put in to organize this event. I would also like to thank Lehigh Valley Hotel and Conference Center for all the assistance they gave us as well. The event was a great success. The ball was not only attended by our own members and family, but marines from other detachments, the local reserve unit , and marine veterans from the surrounding area. The ceremony included the local reserve unit providing colors, recognition of the POW and Marine Corps Remembrance Tables, the readings of the Commandant’s Birthday Message, and of course the traditional cake cutting. Our guest of Honor this year was Marine Corps League National Commandant Dennis Tobin. Everyone is attendance had a fantastic time, and we all look forward to next year. - Commandant Jason M. Smith
